Shane Lowney was born and raised in Tampa, Florida and lives there now with his wife, Christine. He works as a mechanical engineer for a local factory, helping to manage their heavy machinery by ensuring that it is properly operated, up-to-date, and in good repair. Shane Lowney knew he wanted to be a mechanical engineer when he was in high school. He was already interested in how things work, especially machines and robots. He was one of those kids who took things apart and tried to put them back together again to find out how they worked. He knew he wanted to design his own devices and machines one day, and he excelled in classes at school like auto shop and engineering design and drawing. Shane Lowney earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Florida Technology Institute in Melbourne, Florida in 2002 and moved back home to Tampa to work for a local factory as a machine expert. He also designs machines and machine parts for other companies in the area and helps to repair heavy machinery when it breaks down. Over time, Lowney has refined his many skills and built some new ones in his work for several clients around town.
