Shane Lowney - Why Mechanical Engineering?

Shane Lowney knew he wanted to be a mechanical engineer when he was in high school. He was already interested in how things work, especially machines and robots. He was one of those kids who took things apart and tried to put them back together again to find out how they worked. He knew he wanted to design his own devices and machines one day, and he excelled in classes at school like auto shop and engineering design and drawing. Lowney followed his passions and eventually earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2002 so that he could work in the field he felt most accustomed to and talented at.  Shane Lowney encourages young people today to take an interest in mechanical engineering because he says the discipline studies how things work and how our world is put together. Shane Lowney - Skilled at Mechanical Engineering

Shane Lowney has always been comfortable working on machinery and technology throughout his life. He excelled in auto shop and mechanics in high school in his native Tampa, Florida and went off to the Florida Technical Institute in Melbourne, Florida to earn his BS in Mechanical Engineering. He also met his wife Christine there as well. Today, Lowney lives in Tampa, Florida, his home town, where he works full-time at a factory, tuning up heavy machinery and fixing it if breaks down. Lowney also works for several independent clients in the area, designing machinery for small businesses and farmers and helping them with any maintenance issues as needed. Lowney also managed to earn his pilot’s license while attending FTI in Melbourne, and today he files his very own Cessna 182 aircraft above Tampa Bay. Naturally Mechanical Shane Lowney Hones Skills at Florida Institute of Technology

Shane Lowney of Tampa, Florida in the United States is a native son.  Born and raised in Tampa, Lowney is a true Son of the South, loyal to his native city and anxious to give back to the community which has warmed his body and life for all 34 years of it.  Lowney loves flying, with a pilot’s license to operate his Cessna 182, and rock climbing and divining the mysteries of a working engine, which gave rise to Lowney leaving Tampa for the only time in his life, to attend the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Upon completion, Lowney returned to Tampa to pursue his career, with a new wife in tow, Christine. Together they enjoy the beauty of Tampa today.
